Question by Nicole: knitting / sewing patterns for greyhound coats etc?????
Does someone know where I can get a knitting pattern or sewing pattern for a greyhound coat, jumper or pyjamas? It may sound daft however I want some kind of house coat or pyjamas to keep my greyhound warm in the house through winter, particularly during the night when the heating is turned off.

There are lots of patterns out there, many of them free. Just google it and you’ll spend all night looking through the patterns!
www.knittingpatterncentral.com has many patterns. Go to the “pet” section and you’ll find a great assortment of dog coats.
If you are in a hurry for something to keep your baby warm, I’d suggest you get an old fleecy sweatshirt and put it on your dog. This should keep at least it’s chest area warm.

There is a section on pet stuff at the Home Sewing Association website:http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/e_hound_tuxedo.html — grab it now, the site goes away at the end of the month.
There’s also a book out called “SewDog”, which I believe has dog coat patterns in it. Try your local library.
Also you might look in the “craft” section of pattern books…. Kwiksew comes to mind especially. Website is http://www.kwiksew.com
I’d suggest a good polyester fleece for keeping your dog warm — depending on how cool the house is, maybe even Malden Mills’ 300 wt fleece.
